A man in his 30s who drunkenly broke into a caravan at midnight, molested a sleeping woman, and assaulted a man who tried to stop him has been arrested and jailed.
The Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Investigation Unit said on Aug. 13 that it arrested and jailed a 34-year-old identified only by the surname A on charges including forcible molestation and assault.
Police said A is suspected of entering a caravan in Geumdae-ri, Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, at about 11:50 p.m. on the 10th and molesting a sleeping woman identified as B.
When B awoke screaming, a male companion identified as C intervened, and A is also suspected of assaulting C by choking him, pushing him, and knocking him down.
Responding to a report, Gapyeong Police Station arrested A at the scene and referred the case to the Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency.
A works at a nearby water leisure company and was found to be intoxicated at the time. During police questioning, A reportedly denied the allegations.
