BAE, KIM & LEE LLC said on the 13th that it has hired former Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Vice Minister Song Myeong-dal as an adviser.
Song is a policy expert with broad experience in areas including ocean and fisheries policy, port logistics, and private investment. Song has held key posts such as head of the Port Logistics Division, head of the Marine Policy Division, Director-General for Marine Environment Policy, Spokesperson, and head of the Marine Policy Office at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF). From 2023 to 2025, Song served as Vice Minister of the MOF, overseeing ocean and fisheries policy, ports and logistics, maritime affairs, and marine environment policy.
Song also worked at the Economic Free Zone Planning Team of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Senior Secretary to the President for Economic Affairs at the Presidential Office, and the Embassy of Korea in China. Song served as Director for Regulatory Reform and Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, carrying out regulatory improvement work, and handled private investment for major national projects such as the Yeosu World Expo private investment project and Busan New Port.
Song will belong to Bae, Kim & Lee's regulatory group to provide advice in areas such as maritime and transportation, energy infrastructure, and the environment, and will support corporations in responding to policy, regulatory, and permitting issues. Song will also join Bae, Kim & Lee's AI Infrastructure Strategy Center to advise on various policy and regulatory issues, including site selection, permitting, and energy and environmental matters, that arise during the development of large-scale infrastructure such as AI data centers.
