A woman in her 60s was arrested by police in Daejeon after walking around the streets naked while carrying a weapon and then entering a restaurant and smashing fixtures.
The Daejeon Jungbu Police Station said on the 13th it is investigating a woman in her 60s, identified as A, on charges including possessing a weapon in a public place and special intimidation.
She is accused of creating fear among citizens around 8 p.m. on the 12th in the Daesa-dong area of Jung District, Daejeon, by walking around without clothes while carrying a weapon.
She then reportedly went into a nearby restaurant and threatened people by smashing a table and refrigerator with the weapon. No injuries were reported in the process.
Responding to a report, police arrested her at the scene on charges including special intimidation.
Police suspect she is suffering from a mental illness, noting that normal conversation with her was difficult. They plan to first seek an emergency admission and then investigate the exact circumstances and charges based on medical findings.
