On Thursday the 13th, rain will continue mainly along the east coast, with scattered showers in parts of the inland Chungcheong region and the southern interior. The high will climb to 34 degrees, and the heat is expected to persist.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 12th, the morning low on the 13th is forecast at 19–24 degrees, with the daytime high at 26–34 degrees. Morning temperatures will be similar to or slightly below average, while daytime temperatures are expected to be around average.
Forecast morning lows in major cities are Seoul 23 degrees, Incheon 23 degrees, Chuncheon 21 degrees, Gangneung 23 degrees, Daejeon 21 degrees, Daegu 23 degrees, Gwangju 23 degrees, Busan 24 degrees, and Jeju 24 degrees. Forecast daytime highs are Seoul 33 degrees, Incheon 32 degrees, Chuncheon 31 degrees, Gangneung 27 degrees, Daejeon 32 degrees, Daegu 34 degrees, Gwangju 34 degrees, Busan 32 degrees, and Jeju 31 degrees.
Under the influence of easterly winds, rain will continue in the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and in the east coast and northeastern mountains of North Gyeongsang. Rain is also expected in Busan and Ulsan, as well as along the South Gyeongsang south coast and the eastern interior of South Gyeongsang.
Expected precipitation from the 12th to the 14th is 30–80 millimeters for Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and 20–60 millimeters for the Gangwon east coast and mountains, and the North Gyeongsang east coast and northeastern mountains. On the 13th, Busan and Ulsan, and the South Gyeongsang south coast and eastern interior are expected to see 10–40 millimeters of rain.
Inland Chungcheong and the southern interior are expected to see showers between the afternoon and evening. Expected precipitation is 5–20 millimeters in Chungcheong and in the Honam region, and 5–40 millimeters in the Yeongnam region.
While rain and showers fall, temperatures will temporarily drop, but after they end, humidity will rise and it will get hot again.
At sea, beware of strong winds and high waves. Over the waters off Jeju, the South Sea, and the East Sea, winds are expected to blow strongly at 9–16 meters per second, with waves rising to 2–4 meters.
Powerful swells are expected to move into the east and south coasts and the Jeju coast. As it is also a period when tidal levels are high due to the moon's gravity, low-lying coastal areas should watch for flooding.
