A heat wave is expected to continue across many parts of the country on Tuesday the 11th. In urban and coastal areas, temperatures may not drop enough overnight, bringing tropical nights in some places.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 10th, the central region is expected to be mostly clear on the 11th, while the southern region and Jeju Island will be mostly cloudy.
With heat wave advisories in effect mainly for the greater Seoul area and the southern region, the maximum apparent temperature will rise to around 33 degrees for the time being. Extra caution is needed as apparent temperatures can be higher at indoor and outdoor worksites and in rice paddies, fields, and on roads.
For the time being, morning lows will be similar to or slightly below the average minimum of 21–24 degrees, and daytime highs will be similar to or somewhat above the average maximum of 28–32 degrees.
On the 11th, morning lows are forecast at 19–25 degrees and daytime highs at 27–34 degrees. By major area, morning lows will be 24 degrees in Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, and Busan; 20 in Chuncheon; 21 in Gangneung; 23 in Cheongju and Daejeon; 25 in Jeonju and Gwangju; 22 in Daegu; and 26 in Jeju.
Daytime highs are forecast at 34 degrees in Seoul, Incheon, Jeonju, and Gwangju; 33 in Suwon; 32 in Cheongju and Daejeon; 31 in Chuncheon, Daegu, and Busan; 30 in Jeju; and 27 in Gangneung.
At sea, be alert for strong winds and high waves. Very strong winds of 30–70 kilometers per hour and waves of 2.0–4.0 meters are expected in the inner offshore waters of the eastern South Sea and the northern coastal waters off Jeju Island.
For the time being, strong swells will flow into the coasts of South Jeolla and Jeju Island, the southern coast of South Gyeongsang, and the east coast. High waves may surge strongly onto sandy beaches or sweep over rocky shores and breakwaters, and there is a possibility of flooding in low-lying coastal areas.
Fine dust levels are expected to be "good" across all regions nationwide.
