Actor Kim Ji-won donated 100 million won to Seoul National University Children's Hospital for children with severe rare intractable diseases and low-income patients.
Seoul National University Children's Hospital said on the 10th that Kim Ji-won donated 100 million won on the 7th for a ward environment improvement project and treatment cost support for low-income patients.
The donation will be used to ease the treatment cost burden on children with severe rare intractable diseases and their families who come to the hospital from across the country, and to improve ward facilities so the children can receive treatment in a safer and more comfortable environment.
Seoul National University Children's Hospital is a pediatric specialty hospital that treats high-difficulty childhood illnesses such as severe rare intractable diseases and pediatric cancer and leukemia. Many children require repeated treatments and surgeries, placing a heavy medical cost burden on families, and the need to improve ward environments for children who visit the hospital for long periods has also been raised.
Kim Ji-won said the decision to donate came through filming the drama "Doctor X." Kim said, "While filming, I closely encountered the stories of medical staff working hard and sick children, which led me to make this donation," and added, "I want to sincerely convey gratitude and support to the medical staff, the children, and their families who are still striving."
