On the afternoon of the 8th, Incheon District Court on-duty Director General Judge Lee Dong-ho issued an arrest warrant for A, 18, suspected of parricide and violating the Animal Protection Act, after holding a pre-arrest hearing, saying there is a risk of flight and there are unavoidable reasons to detain him as a minor.
Appearing in court for the substantive warrant review, the person did not answer reporters' questions such as "Why did you argue?" and "Aren't you sorry to your mother?" The person also remained silent when asked about the cause of the conflict and the reason for the voluntary report.
At about 8:30 p.m. on the 7th, A is suspected of fatally stabbing B, his mother in her 40s, multiple times with a weapon from the home during a dispute at an apartment in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong District, Incheon. A charge for strangling the family dog to death after the crime was also applied.
B was taken to a hospital by the 119 emergency crew but ultimately died. After committing the crime, A reported to police voluntarily.
After dropping out of high school and living without a particular job, A was known to have a history of psychiatric treatment. At the time of the incident, the father and a younger sibling were reportedly away from home.
Police believe A committed the crime after arguing with B and are investigating the circumstances. To determine the exact cause of death, they also requested an autopsy of B's body from the National Forensic Service.
In the past, reports related to arguments between the two had been filed, and police were dispatched once or twice, but no one was booked at the time.
