Korea University concluded there was no problem regarding research misconduct allegations tied to a paper by Yoo Dam, the daughter of former lawmaker Yoo Seong-min.
According to the university community on the 6th, Korea University determined on the 4th that Yoo's paper "does not constitute research misconduct." Accordingly, no additional procedures or measures are expected.
Yoo has faced allegations of self-plagiarism and so-called "salami slicing" over a paper submitted when she was appointed as a professor at the University of Incheon. A related report was filed through the National Sinmungo, and Korea University conducted an investigation for about seven months.
Korea University's Research Integrity Committee reviewed seven of Yoo's journal articles and her master's and doctoral theses, and was said to have determined, regarding the criticism that the research data and analytical framework were similar, that "this falls under general research practice."
