Two former managers who demanded money from TV personality Park Na-rae, saying they would not expose her private life if they were given 10% of her company's sales, have been indicted.
The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office said on the 6th it indicted Park's former manager, a person surnamed Shin, on charges of joint extortion under the Act on the Punishment of Violence, and indicted without detention another former manager, a person surnamed A.
They are accused of claiming that "Park used company funds for personal purposes for her ex-boyfriend and others," and demanding from Park's side an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's 2024 sales in exchange for not exposing it.
However, the crime is understood to have been attempted because the two did not actually receive money. Shin was also charged with occupational embezzlement and computer fraud, alleging the embezzlement of 30 million won in company funds.
Earlier, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul sent Shin to prosecutors on the 21st.
