Two people accused of plotting on social media (SNS) to assassinate former Democratic Party of Korea leader Jung Chung-rae have been handed over to prosecutors.
According to police and others on the 6th, Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul referred A and B without detention on charges of intimidation on the 10th of last month.
They are accused of plotting to inflict harm by posting messages such as "Let's kill Jung Chung-rae" and "Recruiting a Jung Chung-rae assassination squad" in an SNS open chat room in April, a month before the 9th nationwide local elections held simultaneously (June 3 local elections).
The Democratic Party of Korea received a related tip and on May 16 requested an investigation into the threatening posts, and the Yeongdeungpo station has been investigating.
