A summer festival where you can drink cold beer as much as you want and enjoy performances by popular singers and EDM, all for just 10,000 won, is opening.
Gangjin County, South Jeolla Province, said on the 5th that it will host the 4th Gangjin Hamek Festival for three days from the 27th to the 29th in and around Gangjin Sports Complex.
The Gangjin Hamek Festival is a signature local summer festival created based on the historical connection of Dutch navigator Hendrick Hamel, who drifted to Joseon and stayed in Gangjin.
The festival is paid. In general seating, if you pay an admission fee of 10,000 won per person, you can enjoy various beers provided at the venue without limit. Minors can enter free with a guardian. There are no separate seats in general seating, so it is advisable to bring a picnic mat.
Near the main stage, advance-reservation seats for six people are also available for 150,000 won. A total of 171 tables with 1,000 seats will be operated for reserved seating, and a dedicated beer booth will be installed.
For advance-reservation users, a mobile Gangjin Love voucher worth 20,000 won per table will be refunded, and a temperature-retaining beer tumbler will be provided. The table capacity of six includes minors and guests who do not drink alcohol.
This year's festival will showcase four types of Hamelchon Beer, including lager, IPA, brown ale, and orange wheat beer. Two new products have been newly added.
You can also sample Cas and Hanmac from Oriental Brewery, Budweiser, and Stella, as well as the nonalcoholic products Cas Zero and Cas Zero Lemon Squeeze.
A variety of food to go with the beer will also be available. The venue will sell tteokgalbi, chicken skewers, croquettes, and fried chicken.
The event will run daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the festival period. Popular singers and DJs will take the stage to heat up the festival atmosphere.
On the opening day, the 27th, singer Lee Chaeyeon and the group tripleS will perform. On the 28th, rapper Kim Haon will take the stage. At the Gangjin Hamek Rock Festival on the final day, the 29th, Lee Mujin, No Brain, Crying Nut, Yuk Jungwan Band, and Weatherboat will perform.
Experience programs for family visitors will also be operated. The venue will feature a children's pool, a picnic zone, and a Hamek pump game zone, and water-gun play and the "Hamek cool event game" will also be held.
Gang Jin-won, the Gangjin county chief, said, "The Gangjin Hamek Festival is a signature local summer festival where you can enjoy beer, performances, and experiences together," adding, "With various programs, we will raise visitor satisfaction and promote local spending to energize the local economy."
