On Wednesday the 5th, the maximum heat index will climb to around 35 degrees across most of the country.
The morning low is forecast at 23 to 27 degrees, with the daytime high at 30 to 38 degrees.
In the Seoul metropolitan area and parts of Jeolla, where a heat wave emergency warning has been issued, the maximum temperature will rise to 39 degrees, with a maximum heat index of 38 degrees or higher. Other regions will also be hot, so extra caution is needed for outdoor activities.
There will be scattered showers from afternoon to evening in southwestern Incheon and Gyeonggi, the Chungnam West Coast, the Jeonbuk West Coast, and the Jeonnam region, and some rain is expected from the afternoon in Jeju's mountainous and mid-mountain areas.
Expected rainfall is 5 to 20 mm in southwestern Incheon and Gyeonggi and the Chungnam West Coast; 5 to 30 mm in the Jeonbuk West Coast, Gwangju, and Jeonnam; and 5 to 10 mm in Jeju's mountainous and mid-mountain areas.
From dawn to morning, some areas, mainly inland Gangwon, the Chungcheong region, and the Jeolla region, will see fog reducing visibility to less than 1 km.
Waves will be 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the East and South coasts and 0.5 to 0.5 meters off the West Coast. In the inner open sea (open sea within about 200 km of the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East and West seas and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
