According to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on the 3rd, there have recently been cases of phone calls or text messages to cafes and restaurants impersonating a Researcher from the Disability Discrimination Investigation Division. The messages said a review was needed on the mandatory installation of unmanned information terminals (barrier-free kiosks) under the Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, or contacted them in a way that implied corrective measures such as fines were necessary.
The National Human Rights Commission emphasized that when it investigates a petition case, it requests related materials through an official document. It added, "If you receive contact about corrective measures without having received an official document, be sure to call the National Human Rights Commission representative number (02-1331) or the landline number of the responsible Researcher published on the official website."
