The National Fire Agency said on the 1st that 16 instructors—including medical staff who recently ran an emergency childbirth specialist course, professors of emergency rescue, and paramedic specialist educators from city and provincial fire headquarters—donated 7.3 million won in scholarships to the Fire Officials Mutual Aid Association for the children of fallen firefighters.
The emergency childbirth specialist course was conducted for a month for paramedics to protect the lives of mothers and newborns in critical moments. As they taught the course, the instructors deeply empathized with the mission and hard work of paramedics who dedicate themselves in the field to protect people's lives, and they moved to donate scholarships.
Acting Commissioner Choi Yong-cheol said, "The warm sharing by the instructors who took part in the emergency childbirth specialist course is a meaningful act that carries both support for paramedics and deep consideration for the families of fallen firefighters," adding, "The National Fire Agency will continue to make sustained efforts to honor and support fallen firefighters and their families."
