On Tuesday the 4th, the heat wave will continue, with daytime highs climbing to 38 degrees. Between afternoon and evening, there will be showers in places across the country.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, daytime highs on the 4th are expected to range from 30 to 38 degrees. Morning lows are forecast at 23 to 27 degrees. All are 2 to 5 degrees higher than average.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said an extreme, life-threatening level of heat is expected in the capital area and South Jeolla region, with maximum heat index values rising to 38 degrees or higher, and issued a heat wave emergency warning, urging people to immediately stop all outdoor activities and outside work except for essential duties.
Heat wave advisories are also in effect across most regions, raising the possibility of heat-related illness, so people were advised to drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous outdoor activity as much as possible. In addition, it urged the public to prepare for outdoor air-conditioner unit fires and power outages due to increased electricity use, and not to leave combustible materials in cars.
Also after 12 p.m., showers are expected in southern Gyeonggi, the Chungcheong region, the Jeolla region, the western inland of North and South Gyeongsang, and the mountainous and mid-mountainous areas of Jeju. Expected rainfall from showers is ▲southern Gyeonggi 5–40 mm ▲Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong 5–40 mm ▲Gwangju Metropolitan City, South Jeolla and North Jeolla 5–60 mm ▲western inland North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang 5–40 mm ▲Jeju mountainous and mid-mountainous areas around 5 mm.
In places where rain or showers fall, temperatures will temporarily drop, but after the rain stops, temperatures will rise again in humid conditions, bringing heat. Also, for the time being, nighttime temperatures will not drop enough, with lows staying at 25 degrees or higher, leading to tropical nights. The Korea Meteorological Administration urged people to keep indoor temperatures cool and drink plenty of water before going to sleep.
