Police have launched a compulsory investigation into the fire at Coupang's Seoknam-dong 32 logistics center in Incheon's Seohae District, which took more than four days just to bring under control.
According to police and others on the 30th, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's "Seoknam-dong Coupang logistics center fire investigation task force" carried out a search and seizure at about 10 a.m. that day at a Coupang office near the logistics center. They were said to be securing original closed-circuit (CC)TV footage that captured scenes from the time of the fire.
A fire broke out at the Coupang 32 logistics center at about 6:54 a.m. on the 18th, and extinguishing was completed in the afternoon on the 22nd, roughly 109 hours later. There were no casualties, but most of the stored goods on the sixth floor of the logistics center, where the fire started, were burned.
Earlier, fire authorities estimated that the blaze started in stored items (boxes) on the third-tier shelf (rack) on the sixth floor of the logistics center.
