A man in his 50s suspected of killing a woman in her 50s at an officetel in Gangbuk District, Seoul, tested positive in a rapid drug test.
On the 29th, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul said that A, a man in his 50s who was urgently arrested on murder charges at an officetel in Suyu-dong, Gangbuk District, the day before, tested positive for both methamphetamine and marijuana in a rapid drug test.
A is accused of wielding a weapon at a woman in her 50s, causing her death. At the scene, weapons including a hammer were found. It was confirmed that A and the victim are not related by family.
A acknowledged using drugs, but is not stating when or where. A is also said to be refusing to testify regarding the murder allegation.
Police requested a detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service for a substance in A's possession suspected to be narcotics. They plan to seek an arrest warrant for A within the day.
