Seohae District of Incheon has urged corporations to come up with responsible compensation measures in connection with the recent fire at the Coupang logistics warehouse in Seoknam-dong.
On the 27th, Seohae District, in a meeting with Coupang's vice president and other executives, requested a "universal support plan" for residents struggling due to the fire and, among these, a "selective compensation plan" for households hit harder, asking for a thorough review from multiple angles.
In addition, it conveyed a request to set out specific compensation standards and an official position that include not only residents' health and property losses caused by the fire, but also disruptions to small business operations and damage to local public facilities.
Seohae District has accepted a request from Coupang and provided a site for a damage support center. Accordingly, starting today, Coupang began formally receiving residents' damage reports at the Second Government Complex in Sinhyeon Wonchang-dong.
