On the 26th, heat waves will continue across most of the country, with rain mainly in the central region and North Gyeongsang.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that there will be rain in the capital area, Gangwon Province, the Chungcheong region, and North Gyeongsang, with showers in North Jeolla and Jeju Island.
Expected rainfall is 10–50 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi; 10–50 mm in Gangwon Province; 5–40 mm in North Chungcheong; 5–30 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong; 5–40 mm in Daegu and North Gyeongsang; 5–30 mm in North Jeolla; and 5–10 mm in Jeju Island.
Despite the rain, the sweltering heat is expected to continue. With heat wave advisories in effect for most areas nationwide, peak apparent temperatures are expected to be around 33 C in most regions. Southern Gyeonggi, Yeongdong in Gangwon, South Chungcheong, the Jeolla region, the Gyeongsang region, and Jeju are expected to rise to around 35 C.
In particular, in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, where a severe heat wave alert is in effect, the peak apparent temperature is expected to exceed 38 C, and daytime highs are expected to surge to around 39 C.
At night, tropical nights, when the minimum temperature does not drop below 25 C in many parts of the country, are expected to continue. The Korea Meteorological Administration advised that in areas where tropical nights are expected, it is best to keep indoor spaces cool using air conditioners or fans and to drink enough water before sleep while avoiding caffeine and alcohol.
Morning lows will be 22–26 C, and daytime highs will be 29–37 C, similar to or slightly higher than average.
Daytime highs are expected to be 31 C in Seoul, 30 C in Incheon, 29 C in Chuncheon, 30 C in Gangneung, 33 C in Daejeon, 37 C in Daegu, 33 C in Jeonju, 34 C in Gwangju, 33 C in Busan, and 33 C in Jeju.
