Sunday the 26th will see a heat wave continue across most of the country, with daytime highs reaching up to 37 C. Many areas will experience tropical nights with lows staying above 25 C, and there will be scattered showers mainly in the central region.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 25th, tomorrow's morning lows are forecast at 24–26 C and daytime highs at 29–37 C. By region, daytime highs will be 33 C in Seoul, 32 C in Incheon, 33 C in Suwon, 30 C in Chuncheon, 30 C in Gangneung, 34 C in Cheongju, 33 C in Daejeon, 34 C in Jeonju, 35 C in Gwangju, 37 C in Daegu, 34 C in Busan, 36 C in Ulsan, and 34 C on Jeju.
For the time being, temperatures will be similar to or slightly higher than the average (lows 21–24 C, highs 28–32 C), with the southern region trending above average. With heat wave advisories in effect across most areas, the maximum heat index will rise above 33 C, and above 35 C in the southern region, making it very hot.
In particular, Jeonnam Gwangyang, Daegu Dalseong-southern, Gyeongbuk Goryeong, Pohang, and Gyeongju, and Gyeongnam Yangsan and Uiryeong, where a severe heat wave alert is in effect, will see maximum heat indexes above 38 C, requiring caution.
With overnight temperatures not dropping enough, many places will also see tropical nights. The Korea Meteorological Administration urged people to drink plenty of water and avoid outdoor activities at midday to prevent heat-related illness.
The central region and North Gyeongsang will see many clouds, while the rest of the country will be mostly clear. Before dawn, some spots in the central region may see raindrops of less than 0.1 mm, and between morning and evening there will be scattered showers in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, Gangwon Province, North Chungcheong, Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, North Jeolla, Daegu and North Gyeongsang, and Jeju.
Expected rainfall is 10–50 mm for Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi and Gangwon Province; 5–40 mm for North Chungcheong; 5–30 mm for Daejeon, Sejong and South Chungcheong; 5–40 mm for Daegu and North Gyeongsang; 5–30 mm for North Jeolla; and 5–10 mm for Jeju.
In areas with showers, some places will see gusty winds with thunder and lightning, so take care with facility management and safety.
Waves will run 0.5–1.0 m on the eastern, western and southern nearshore waters. Offshore wave heights are expected to be 0.5–1.5 m in the East Sea and 0.5–1.0 m in the West and South seas.
Fine dust levels nationwide will be in the "good" to "moderate" range.
