The Army Cadet Military Academy class of 8 alumni association donated 20 million won to the Korean War Allied Nations Veterans Memorial Foundation.
On the 22nd, the class of 8 alumni association visited the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and held a donation ceremony. The total amount delivered was 20 million won, which is expected to be used to support descendants of veterans of the June 25 War.
In particular, 5 million won of the donation will be delivered to Ethiopia's "Kebur Zabagna Choir."
The Kebur Zabagna Choir is composed of descendants of Ethiopia's "Kebur Zabagna unit," which fought in the June 25 War. They visited Korea last month and are carrying out a schedule including concerts.
Yun Hyeong-jin, president of the class of 8 alumni association, said, "We organized this event to repay the veterans who sacrificed for the survival of the Republic of Korea."
Previously, the class of 8 alumni association also delivered 10 million won in scholarships to "Hankkum School" for North Korean defector youths.
Shin Gwang-cheol, president of the Korean War Allied Nations Veterans Memorial Foundation, said, "We will work hard on various support programs, including operating a Korean language school and providing scholarship support for descendants of Ethiopian veterans."
