Chey Tae-won, chair of SK Group, said on the 24th that his side would decide whether to appeal after reviewing the written judgment, after a court ordered him to pay 944 billion won to his former wife, Roh Soh-yeong, director of Art Center Nabi, by partitioning their assets.
Chey's attorney said this when meeting with reporters after the ruling in the remand trial for the couple's asset division lawsuit, handed down by the Seoul High Court's Family Division 1 (Presiding Judge Lee Sang-joo, Director General) at 2 p.m. on the day.
Chey's side said, "In the process of ending the marriage that lasted close to 20 years, the divorce was finalized by the Supreme Court's ruling last year, and today there was a remand ruling on asset partitioning."
They added, "Above all, Chey regrets that many people have been troubled by the process up to now."
Chey's side said, "However, we have not yet received the written judgment on today's ruling," adding, "We will provide our position on whether to appeal after reviewing the written judgment."
