Police are chasing a suspect who damaged the car that former Democratic Party of Korea leader Jung Chung-rae was riding in.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul said on the 21st that it is tracking an unidentified suspect who attacked and damaged the former leader's vehicle. Police booked the suspect on charges including property damage.
The suspect is accused of kicking and striking the former leader's car with tools at about 7 p.m. on the 20th at the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, after a joint speech for the preliminary round of the party convention. Part of the car was reportedly damaged.
The former leader's side said in a notice to the press that day, "We express deep regret over the threat and violence directed at the candidate who was inside the vehicle."
