Minister of the Interior and Safety Yoon Ho-jung on the 20th visited the Coupang logistics center in Seoknam-dong, Seohae District, Incheon, where a fire broke out, to check on the suppression efforts.
The Minister received briefings at the fire scene on each agency's response, including the National Fire Agency, Korean National Police Agency, Incheon City, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT). Afterward, Yoon emphasized that an evacuation order had been issued for residents due to extreme heat, smoke, and signs the building could collapse.
The Minister said, "Throw every resource into extinguishing the fire and do your best to prevent the damage from spreading, but ensure the safety of on-site personnel thoroughly."
After finishing the on-site inspection, the Minister visited the resident shelter set up at Incheon Sinhyeon Elementary School and met affected residents. There, Yoon asked the dedicated officials from Incheon City and the Seohae District Office to carefully ensure that on-site relief support—such as providing relief supplies and meals—proceeds without a hitch until residents can safely return to their daily lives.
