A fire at a Coupang logistics center in Incheon has been burning for more than 27 hours without being extinguished. A firefighter working on suppression efforts showed signs of exhaustion and was treated at a hospital.
According to the Incheon Fire Department on the 19th, a fire broke out around 6:54 a.m. the previous day on the sixth floor of an eight-story aboveground building at the Coupang 32 Logistics Center in Seoknam-dong, Seohae District, Incheon. The fire spread to the seventh floor the same day in the afternoon along the building's exterior wall. As of 10 a.m. that day, the fire had not been extinguished.
One firefighter showed signs of exhaustion while performing on-site safety management and other activities and was transported to a hospital. One firefighter who had been using a ladder truck for suppression efforts the previous day inhaled smoke and was treated at a hospital.
Fire authorities, maintaining the national firefighting mobilization order, have deployed 221 pieces of equipment and 575 firefighters and police officers to the scene to put out the blaze.
