The heavy rain warning was lifted across Seoul. The heavy rain warning issued for Bucheon, Siheung, Gimpo, Gwangmyeong and Hanam was also lifted.
On the 18th, the Korea Meteorological Administration said it would lift the heavy rain warning that took effect across Seoul in the early morning at 7:30 a.m.
The heavy rain warning issued for Bucheon, Siheung, Gimpo, Gwangmyeong and Hanam was also lifted at the same time that day. The heavy rain advisory was lifted in 16 locations in Gyeonggi, including Suwon, Seongnam, Hwaseong, Ansan, Anyang, Pyeongtaek and Gwangju.
A large amount of rain fell over a short period in Seoul and the southern Gyeonggi region before dawn. In Gyeonggi Gwangju, hourly rainfall reached 19 mm.
However, as the rain clouds moved through quickly, the accumulated rainfall was relatively small. As of 7:30 a.m., a heavy rain advisory is in effect for northern Gyeonggi, including Namyangju, Uijeongbu, Yangju, Pocheon, Dongducheon, Gapyeong and Yeoncheon.
The Korea Meteorological Administration expects the rain to ease gradually, then turn heavy again from night. The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "In the southern Gyeonggi area, about 100 mm more rain is expected through tomorrow."
