A woman in her 50s whose whereabouts had been unknown for 10 days was found dead on the floor of the mechanical parking tower at the officetel where she lived. It was 10 days after a missing person report was filed with police on the 6th when her family lost contact with her.
The Seoul Gangseo Police Station said on the 17th that the previous night (the 16th) it found a woman in her 50s, identified as A, on the floor of a mechanical parking tower at an officetel in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu.
At the time, the parking tower was out of service due to a malfunction, and it was reported that police searching for A, while inspecting the interior, found A's body on the basement floor.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances, including any criminal involvement, considering the possibility that A entered the parking tower, which had ceased operating due to the malfunction, and fell to the floor and died.
Police plan to send A's body to the National Forensic Service for an autopsy.
