Busan's summer nights are colored by films and performances. In Busan, the "city of movies" that hosts the Busan International Film Festival every year, a nighttime tourism festival will unfold.
Busan city said on the 15th that it will host the "2026 Korea Night Night Festa Busan" with the Busan Tourism Organization from the 18th to the 19th at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae District.
Night Night Festa is a joint nighttime tourism event held in turn by 10 cities nationwide selected as specialized nighttime tourism cities through an open call by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This year's event will raise its curtain in Busan for the first time.
The theme is "rest on a midsummer night: fill, empty, and stay." It will feature Busan's unique nighttime tourism programs that blend film, performance, reading, and relaxation.
The headline program, the "Fever Candlelight Concert," will open on the 18th alongside the opening ceremony of the Busan Travel Film Festival. In an outdoor theater decorated with thousands of LED candles, visitors can enjoy original soundtracks (OSTs) from films. Performances will be held twice, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. They may be canceled if it rains.
The opening film of the Busan Travel Film Festival, "The Fall: Director's Cut," will be screened the same day from 7:30 p.m.
At the Busan Travel Film Festival, there will be film screenings along with World Heritage performances and "Trip Talk," a talk show featuring invited travel speakers. Timed with the screening of the film "Buena Vista Social Club," a Latin jazz performance will also be presented.
There will also be a rest area where visitors can comfortably stay between films and performances.
In the outdoor library in the city center, visitors can find more than 500 books. Visitors can enjoy reading under the night sky in a space with beanbags and camping chairs. There will also be a transcription experience where people handwrite their favorite movie lines on manuscript paper.
There will be a "campnic zone" that can be used without separate gear and a "camping zone" for those who bring their own equipment.
At the food zone, "Night Night Convenience Store," visitors can taste a variety of instant ramyun, including dwaeji gukbap ramyun, a Busan-themed souvenir. Food trucks selling distinctive dishes from across the country will also operate.
Alcoholic beverages such as Busan traditional liquor and beer will also be sold. A program for foreign tourists to directly experience Korea's delivery culture will also be introduced.
Na Yun-bin, head of Busan's Tourism and MICE Bureau, said, "Nighttime tourism is an essential content in Busan tourism and a source of urban competitiveness enjoyed together by residents and visitors," adding, "We will continue to discover diverse nighttime tourism content that makes Busan's nights even more special and raise the city's brand value."
