T&C Foundation said on the 14th that it held "2026 Healers Heal Us" for welfare workers.
Now in its third year, Healers Heal Us is the foundation's empathy program created to recognize the hard work of welfare workers and help them reflect on their lives and cherished relationships. Unlike fixed group schedules or training-centered support programs, participants plan their own travel timing and itineraries with family members or workplace colleagues.
This year's program was held for 20 workers in the child and youth welfare field. The foundation covered flights, lodging, and local transportation. It also enabled participants to reflect on themselves in nature and art by visiting the Jeju Podo Museum exhibition "We, Such Small Beings."
Participants said the event helped them find new motivation to return to the field. Cheongju Seobu General Social Welfare Center social worker Shin Bo-mi said, "On this trip, I put down my phone and focused on my family, and I shared with my child the work I hadn't been able to explain well enough." Ganghwa-gun Dream Start social worker Gu Bon-gyeong said, "Through this trip, I came to accept that social workers also need to rest enough and receive care."
Participants also viewed Podo Museum's exhibition "We, Such Small Beings." Those who experienced it said that, watching clocks moving at different speeds, they realized they must respect the pace of each child's life, and that works dealing with small beings in a vast world helped them take a step back from the burdens of everyday life.
A T&C Foundation official said, "Welfare workers face other people's difficulties and emotions up close, but they do not have many chances to have their efforts and hearts recognized," adding, "We hope that through Healers Heal Us, participants looked back on themselves and their cherished relationships in their own ways and found the strength to return to the field."
