A man in his 20s who posted on social media (SNS) that he would kill President Lee Jae-myung was arrested by police.
Seoul Hyehwa Police Station said on the 13th that it booked a man in his 20s, identified only as A, without detention on suspicion of attempted intimidation.
A is accused of posting five times around 6:30 a.m. on the 6th on his SNS account that he would kill the president. Police booked A on the 8th and questioned him.
Park Jeong-bo, commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said at a press briefing that the investigation of the suspect in the president murder threat case was completed and noted that the case would be sent to prosecutors soon.
Police applied the charge of attempted intimidation, noting that the threat was not delivered directly to the president.
