Prosecutors have booked the Gwangsan Police Station chief and the head of the criminal division of the Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan Special City Gwangsan Police Station in connection with allegations of evidence destruction in the "Jang Yoon-gi case."
The Gwangju District Prosecutors Office is raiding and seizing the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station on July 10, which investigated the case of high school girl murder by Jang Yoon-gi.
Prosecutors have reportedly booked the Gwangsan Police Station chief, who is under suspension, on charges of aiding and abetting evidence destruction and seized computers and other items. The head of the criminal division at Gwangsan Police Station has also been booked on the same charge and is currently investigating.
The team leader of the Gwangsan Police Station's investigative unit was arrested on July 8 on suspicion of destroying cable ties that could have been used as restraints during the Jang Yoon-gi investigation.
