Asan, South Chungcheong Province, said on the 9th that it will preemptively respond to the government's three mega projects (semiconductors, physical AI, AI data centers) and Samsung's 113 trillion won investment by forming the Samsung investment administrative support task force (task force).
According to Asan, the task force will operate on a standing basis until the investment is complete. The Director General will be Vice Mayor Kim Beom-su. It will run as a cross-department response system with all relevant departments participating, including planning and budgeting, permits and approvals, support for corporations, urban development, transportation, living conditions, and public relations.
On the 8th, the city held the first meeting to form the task force, presided over by Vice Mayor Kim Beom-su, with all bureau and office Director Generals attending.
Before the meeting, Mayor Oh Se-hyeon told key senior officials, including the vice mayor, "This task force must go beyond simple administrative support to remove uncertainties in the sluggish private investment and serve as a primer to reverse the overall economic mood of Asan," and "By signing an administrative support memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Samsung and conducting strategic publicity using media outlets, we need to spread the investment momentum and inject new energy into stagnant private development projects."
