The "2026 Administrative AX Forum," hosted by ChosunBiz and organized by the data tech corporations Big Value, opened on the 9th at the Westin Josun Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul. Seeing that the administrative efficiency brought by the government's push for a leap to an "AI democratic government" will lead to improved quality of life for the public, ChosunBiz prepared the "Administrative AX Forum" with Big Value to explore the right direction for public AX (artificial intelligence grand transformation).
About 100 artificial intelligence (AI) and informatization officials from central and local governments, public institutions, and startups attended the forum. Under the theme "Administrative AX: beyond artificial intelligence to national intelligence," the forum discusses policy directions focusing on public AX cases directly tied to public safety, including industrial accidents, disaster safety, and quarantine. It also shares know-how on crises faced during the process of adopting AI at each ministry and agency and how they were overcome.
Kim Deok-han, managing editor of ChosunBiz, said in the forum's opening remarks, "Administration is a field that meets people's lives directly. The more sophisticated civil complaint processing, service delivery, and policy review become, the more people's convenience, safety, and quality of life will improve," adding, "Your concerns and efforts at the forefront of AI innovation will raise the level of public administration and power the advancement of administrative services that people can feel by one step."
Yoon Ho-jung, Minister of the Interior and Safety, said in a written congratulatory message, "Artificial intelligence is now going beyond simple technological innovation to fundamentally change the paradigm of industry, the economy, and society as a whole," adding, "It is no exaggeration to say that the competitiveness of nations and corporations depends on how quickly and effectively they achieve the AI transition."
The Minister went on to say, "We plan to gradually enhance the functions of the AI Public Secretary so that administrative services can be provided easily and conveniently through private apps that people use frequently in daily life," adding, "Going forward, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) will do its best to realize an AI democratic government that people can feel by using AI to further expand public participation in policy and proactively find and provide services that people need."
Im Moon-young, a lawmaker with the Democratic Party of Korea, said in a video congratulatory message, "We are now entering a time of transformation in which AI technology goes beyond simple industrial innovation to fundamentally change the paradigm of public services that protect people's lives," adding, "The public AI transition is the key to realizing safe and efficient administration that people can feel, going beyond the mere introduction of technology."
