A story that an LG Electronics massage chair at the Dokdo security detachment broke down but had to be discarded because after-sales service (A/S) was unavailable spread on online communities and social media (SNS). LG Electronics said on the 8th it would inspect and repair the massage chair as well as other products.
According to LG Electronics, an A/S request for a massage chair was received on Dokdo at the end of May. However, the A/S request was canceled in early June while a visit schedule was being arranged.
A photographer recently posted on SNS, "Looking for someone to repair Dokdo security detachment LG massager," bringing the situation to light. The post said that both LG Electronics massage chairs at the Dokdo security detachment were broken and unusable, and that because the products are on Dokdo, A/S is difficult. The post seeking someone who could repair them quickly spread through online communities and SNS.
LG Electronics identified the situation and decided to visit Dokdo to provide free inspections and repairs for the massage chairs and other LG home appliances, including system air conditioners.
LG Electronics also plans to conduct regular inspections once a year. An LG Electronics official said, "As these are products used by the Dokdo security detachment, we plan to support the necessary inspections and repairs so they can use them more conveniently."
