Chair Kim Yong-man of Kim Gane was sent to prosecutors on suspicion of siphoning off several hundred million won in company funds.
According to police and others on the 7th, the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul transferred Kim to prosecutors on the 15th on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. Kim is suspected of diverting about 600 million won in company funds from January 2023 to 2024.
Kim is said to be suspected of privately using money that food material suppliers and interior construction partner companies provided to the company as incentives and fees.
Kim was also sentenced in May to three years in prison, suspended for five years, on a charge of attempted quasi-rape for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a female employee who was intoxicated.
