A man in his 60s who was lying on a street in Jongno-gu, Seoul, trembling violently, was taken into police custody. The man tested positive for Philopon in a preliminary drug test.
According to Hyehwa Police Station on Jul. 7, police urgently arrested a man in his 60s, identified as A, at about 8:40 a.m. the previous day on a street in Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report that "a person is lying on the road." At the time, A was reportedly lying on the road and trembling violently.
At the scene, while checking A's condition and belongings, police found a disposable syringe in his pocket. Injection marks were also found on A's arm.
Police then conducted a preliminary drug test on A, which was found to be positive for Philopon.
Police are investigating whether A used drugs and the specific circumstances of the incident. Based on the findings, police also plan to consider whether to seek an arrest warrant for A.
