Ahead of the June 3 local elections on May 6, actor Jeon Won-ju, who drew attention by appearing at a Democratic Party of Korea campaign event, is making waves again after showing up at a rally held by a conservative-leaning civic group led by former Korean history instructor Jeon Han-gil.
On the 5th, Jeon Han-gil's YouTube channel posted a video of a rally held by the conservative-leaning civic group "Hanmi Dongmaengdan" to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
What caught the eye in the video was Jeon Won-ju's presence. Jeon sat among rally participants listening to the speeches, and she was also seen nodding several times during the remarks.
That day, Jeon Won-ju listened closely to a speech by Mos Tan, former U.S. Liberty University law school professor who served as the State Department's ambassador-at-large for international criminal justice in the first Donald Trump administration.
In the speech, former professor Mos Tan said, "Since the Korean War, U.S. and Korean troops have always fought together. But for the first time in history, President Lee Jae-myung did not help when the United States fought Iran."
Actor Choi Jun-yong, who served as emcee for the rally, also directly announced Jeon Won-ju's attendance. From the podium, Choi said, "Teacher Jeon Won-ju, who is seated with our patriotic youth, please stand up for a moment," introducing Jeon.
Meanwhile, Jeon Won-ju earlier drew attention by appearing at a Democratic Party campaign event in Gongju, South Chungcheong, on May 21. At the time, a video on the party's YouTube channel "Deli Minju" showed party leader Jung Chung-rae heading toward a vehicle after hearing someone say, "Jeon Won-ju came to see you."
Leader Jung greeted Jeon Won-ju, saying, "Oh my, how are you," and Jeon got out of the car and reached out for a handshake. Jung replied, "Thank you."
