On Tuesday the 7th, rain is expected in most areas nationwide. In the Seoul metropolitan area and the inland and mountainous regions of northern Gangwon, some places will see heavy rain with high totals.
Expected rainfall is 20–60 mm in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi and the five West Sea islands. In northern Gyeonggi and the five West Sea islands, some places will see more than 80 mm. The inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon are expected to receive 20–60 mm of rain. In the inland and mountainous regions of northern Gangwon, some places will see more than 80 mm. The east coast of Gangwon will see 5–40 mm. Gangwon east coast 5–40 mm, Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong 20–60 mm, Gwangju, South Jeolla and North Jeolla 5–40 mm, inland South Gyeongsang, Daegu and North Gyeongsang 5–40 mm, and Jeju Island around 5 mm.
From the afternoon into the night, showers are expected in most areas nationwide. Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, the east coast of Gangwon, Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, North Chungcheong, northern North Jeolla, inland South Gyeongsang, Daegu and North Gyeongsang will each see 5–40 mm, and the inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon are expected to see 5–60 mm of showers.
Areas with rain or showers may see gusty winds with thunder and lightning. Even within the same area, rainfall can vary widely, so caution is needed.
In areas where it rains, water levels in valleys and streams can rise suddenly. Avoid riverfront trails and underpasses due to the risk of being cut off.
Even with the rain, the heat will continue. Morning lows will be 21–24 C, and daytime highs 28–35 C. Temperatures will be similar to or a little higher than average (morning lows 19–22 C, daytime highs 25–29 C).
For the time being, daytime highs in most areas will be 30 C or higher, with peak heat index values around 31 C.
In areas under excessive heat advisories, including southeastern Gyeonggi, inland southern Gangwon, central North Chungcheong, southeastern South Jeolla, the Gyeongsang region and Jeju Island, the peak heat index will rise to 33 C.
Forecast daytime highs for major areas are 30 C in Seoul, 29 C in Incheon, 29 C in Chuncheon, 32 C in Gangneung, 31 C in Daejeon, 34 C in Daegu, 33 C in Jeonju, 32 C in Gwangju, 30 C in Busan and 32 C in Jeju.
Waves will run 0.5–1.5 meters off the east coast, 0.5–2.0 meters off the west coast and 0.5–1.0 meters off the south coast. In offshore waters, waves are expected at 0.5–1.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5–3.0 meters in the West Sea and 0.5–2.5 meters in the South Sea.
Fine dust levels are expected to be "good" in all areas. Ozone concentrations will be "bad" in Ulsan, North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang, and "moderate" elsewhere.
