The Korea Meteorological Administration said rain will fall nationwide that day, but many areas will see a lull in the rain during the morning.
The Korea Meteorological Administration projected that, for the time being, daytime highs across inland areas nationwide will rise above 30 degrees. It said the maximum apparent temperature will climb to around 31 degrees in central regions and around 32 degrees in southern regions, bringing hot conditions.
As of 5 a.m. that day, temperatures were 24.3 degrees in Seoul, 24.0 in Incheon, 23.5 in Suwon, 22.0 in Chuncheon, 24.7 in Gangneung, 25.6 in Cheongju, 23.1 in Daejeon, 23.1 in Jeonju, 23.3 in Gwangju Metropolitan City, 24.6 in Jeju, 23.4 in Daegu, 23.2 in Busan, 22.8 in Ulsan, and 22.4 in Changwon.
Expected rainfall that day for the greater Seoul area, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, was forecast at 20–60 mm.
Next, Gangwon inland and mountainous areas 20–60 mm; Gangwon east coast 5–10 mm; Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, and North Chungcheong 20–60 mm; South Jeolla south coast 30–80 mm; Gwangju, South Jeolla, and North Jeolla 20–60 mm; South Gyeongsang west south coast 20–70 mm; and Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, Daegu, and North Gyeongsang 5–50 mm.
Jeju Island will see 30–100 mm of rain from that day through the 6th, but mountainous areas are expected to receive more than 150 mm in places.
Waves will run 0.5–1.5 meters off the east and south coasts and 0.5–1.0 meters off the west coast.
On the inner open sea (the open sea within about 200 km of the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 0.5–1.5 meters in the East Sea and 0.5–2.0 meters in the West and South seas.
