After the girl group LUCENS was appointed as a public relations ambassador for Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, a Reels video they released has drawn attention, surpassing a cumulative 3.27 million views.
According to Gyeongju City on the 2nd, LUCENS has released two related Reels videos since being appointed as Gyeongju's public relations ambassador on the 26th. The videos are spreading quickly on major social networking services (SNS) including YouTube and Instagram.
The video released on the 29th, "Gyeongju yahoo, LUCENS has come as a Silla princess," recorded a total of 1.88 million views. Interest appears to have been drawn by the LUCENS members appearing with a "Silla princess" concept that leverages Gyeongju's history and image.
Another Reels video is content parodying member Minami's "para para dance" meme. It wittily conveyed the anticipation ahead of their appointment as Gyeongju's public relations ambassadors, eliciting responses from online users.
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young said, "I thank all the citizens who have shown great interest in and support for LUCENS," adding, "We will continue to deliver city news easily and engagingly through various SNS content."
LUCENS is a five-member girl group that debuted in Mar. 2024. Recently, its recognition has grown mainly through member Woni's YouTube channel, and "Love Attack," released in Aug. 2024, is also seeing a resurgence two years later.
