The Ministry of the Interior and Safety Serious Crimes Investigation Agency inauguration task force said on the 2nd that it has selected sites for five regional offices.
The five regional offices are in Suwon, Gyeonggi; Busan; Daegu; Daejeon; and Gwangju. The Suwon office will be housed in the former Lotte Mart in Yeongtong-dong, Yeongtong-gu; the Busan office in BRIGHTEN in Myeongji-dong, Gangseo-gu; and the Daegu office in Namsan Building in Daemyeong-dong, Nam-gu. The Gwangju office was finalized for Hankyung Building in Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu.
For the Daejeon office, Sejong IT Tower in Jiphyeon-dong, Sejong, was selected. This took into account that there was no suitable site within the Daejeon area.
Accordingly, the inauguration task force of the Serious Crimes Investigation Agency plans to secure a site in the Daejeon area in the future and review constructing a new office building and a transfer.
Regarding the selection of sites for the regional offices, the inauguration task force of the Serious Crimes Investigation Agency said, "We determined that exclusive use of a standalone building is appropriate in line with the intent to separate investigation and indictment," adding, "Among private buildings such as rentals, we analyzed the suitability of office locations by considering accessibility and security, and went through on-site checks and internal reviews." It added, "We plan to establish office space and ancillary facilities by securing reserve funds."
