Police launched an investigation after a man of unknown identity was found dead in the Gyeongin Ara Waterway in Gimpo, Gyeonggi.
According to the Gimpo Police Station and the Gimpo Fire Station on the 1st, police received a report that afternoon, found the man's body, and are investigating.
The report came in at about 1:33 p.m. that day, stating that a "human figure was floating in the water" in the Gyeongin Ara Waterway in Gochon-eup, Gimpo.
Responding to the report, fire authorities recovered the body of a man believed to be in his 30s to 40s near a yacht mooring and handed it over to police.
Police have not found any signs of a crime so far and plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service.
They also plan to investigate the precise circumstances of the case based on nearby closed-circuit (CC)TV footage and witness statements.
