Starting next month, pregnant women will receive an annual package of eco-friendly agricultural products worth 240,000 won. The goal is to increase consumption of eco-friendly farm goods and support families with newborns.
According to "Changes starting in the second half of the year" released on the 30th, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will launch the "eco-friendly agricultural product package support program for pregnant women" next month.
The program was piloted from 2020 to 2022 and was suspended in 2023, but it has been revived after the Lee Jae-myung administration confirmed it as a national agenda item.
Eligibility covers mothers who give birth on or after Jan. 1, 2025, and mothers who are pregnant as of the program date. Applications can be made via Ecoemall online shopping mall support points or by visiting in person.
Selected pregnant women will receive eco-friendly agricultural products worth 240,000 won per year, including a personal co-payment of 48,000 won per person.
However, pregnant women receiving support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Nutrition Plus Program or the Agriculture Ministry's Agri-food Voucher Program cannot apply for duplicate benefits.
