A power outage occurred across Seoul's Gangnam District, disrupting electricity supply at Gangnam Severance Hospital as well.
According to the medical community on the 29th, a blackout hit the entire Gangnam Severance Hospital building in Dogok-dong, Gangnam District, starting around 1:30 p.m. It was reported to be a fallout from a problem at the Dogok substation.
Gangnam Severance Hospital issued a Code White, signaling an internal emergency. The operating rooms and intensive care units reportedly had no major issues, as the emergency power system was activated. However, kiosks and the intake system stopped, and outpatient registration and appointment verification had to be handled manually.
Power supply itself has been restored, but it is expected to take additional time for the IT system to return to normal. Gangnam Severance Hospital noted, "We will do our best to ensure medical services operate normally through rapid restoration work."
