Eight more Korean ships that had stayed in the Strait of Hormuz amid the Middle East war fallout have departed.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said on the 26th that "eight ships operated by Korean shipping companies that had been waiting in the Strait of Hormuz have passed through the strait and are sailing normally."
A total of 37 Korean crew members are aboard the ships. One ship is bound for Korea.
As a result, the number of Korean ships remaining in the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to five. Seventeen Koreans are aboard them. There are also 30 Koreans aboard other foreign ships.
A procession of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz has continued since the United States and Iran agreed to end the war. This is the third passage by Korean ships since the end-of-war agreement.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) said, "We will continue to support the safe passage of our ships waiting inside the strait."
