Total sales in the firefighting industry were tallied at 2.06199 trillion won in 2025. That was up 5.9% (115.23 billion won) from a year earlier, surpassing the 2 trillion won mark for the first time. The construction (1.15873 trillion won) and manufacturing (421.71 billion won) institutional sector drove growth.
The National Fire Agency said on the 25th that it released the "2026 National Fire Agency statistical yearbook," which includes this information.
Last year, there were 10,639,732 calls to 119, down 6.3% from 2024. The daily average was about 29,000. Over the same period, fire dispatches rose 1.94% to 38,344, while rescue dispatches fell 9.14% to 1,198,268.
There were a total of 585,118 daily-life safety dispatches last year. That was more than 80,000 fewer than in 2024, largely because dispatches to remove beehives fell by nearly 70,000. Over the same period, support for recovery from damage caused by natural disasters and support for infectious diseases increased. The National Fire Agency said this shows a trend of diversifying disaster types.
