The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said on the 25th that five Korean ships that had been staying inside the Strait of Hormuz due to the Middle East war additionally exited the strait. With five ships leaving the strait, the number of our ships remaining on the inner side of the strait has decreased to 13.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said that "five ships operated by our shipping companies that had been waiting on the inner side of the Strait of Hormuz have passed through the strait and are sailing normally."
A total of 21 Korean crew members are on board these ships. Of the five ships, one ship has Korea as its destination.
Thirteen Korean ships remain inside the Strait of Hormuz. The number of Korean crew members in the strait is 87 in total, including 33 who are on board foreign vessels.
Since the United States and Iran reached a settlement to end the war, a wave of ships inside the Strait of Hormuz has been making their escape. Korean ships are also expected to leave in sequence.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) said, "Including this passage, our government is continuing consultations with relevant countries so that the free and safe navigation of all our ships can be realized as soon as possible, with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and overseas missions forming a 'one team.'"
