The youngest sibling of Fubao, born exactly three weeks ago, is showing rapid growth. The black markings have become distinct through the white fur, and the weight has increased to nearly four times that at birth.
On the 24th, Samsung C&T institutional sector released photos of the baby giant panda that turned three weeks old the day before, on the 23rd. The panda had clear black markings around the eyes and ears and on the shoulders, arms, and legs.
The baby panda was born at 10:53 a.m. on the 3rd to Aibao (mother) and Lebao (father), giant pandas at Everland Panda World.
Following Fubao (born in 2020) and the twin pandas Ruibao and Huibao (born in 2023), it is the fourth giant panda born in Korea.
The weight, which was 171g at birth, increased to 670g as of the day before, about four times higher. Samsung C&T said the health condition is also good, and the mother panda (Aibao) is healthy.
Everland keepers Kang Cheol-won and Song Young-gwan, veterinarians, and an expert dispatched from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda are providing 24-hour support for Aibao's postpartum recovery and the baby panda's care.
Keeper Kang said, "Perhaps thanks to mother Aibao's skillful breastfeeding and parenting, which raised Fubao, Ruibao, and Huibao wonderfully, the baby panda born this time is growing faster than her older sisters."
