A fire broke out around 2:45 p.m. on the 23rd at a logistics warehouse in Unyang-dong, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, and fire authorities began battling the blaze.
Determining there was a risk the fire could spread to surrounding areas, fire authorities issued a "level 2 response" around 3:25 p.m. A level 2 response mobilizes personnel and equipment not only from the jurisdictional fire station but also from neighboring stations.
Fire authorities have deployed 43 pieces of equipment and 108 firefighters and are working to extinguish the blaze.
There have been no confirmed casualties from the fire so far. Four warehouse employees evacuated.
The warehouse that caught fire stored clothing and consisted of three steel-frame buildings with a total floor area of 331 square meters, according to initial findings.
Gimpo City urged, via a safety alert text message, "Drivers should detour around roads near the building, and people inside the building should evacuate outside."
