The agency of singer Park Seo-jin canceled a concert that had been scheduled to be held at Seoul Jamsil Live Arena (formerly the Handball Gymnasium). It appears to be due to the prolonged blockade protests at ballot-counting centers sparked by the "ballot paper shortage" situation.
According to the industry on the 23rd, Janggu E Ssin Entertainment said on its official social media the previous day that it "inevitably decided to cancel the Park Seo-jin national tour concert Seoul encore show that had been scheduled to be held at Live Arena on the 4th to 5th of next month."
The agency said, "We examined various options to hold the performance and carefully considered measures such as venue transfer and schedule changes," adding, "However, after comprehensively reviewing performance operations, overall conditions, and system-related difficulties in adjusting the schedule, we determined it would be difficult to proceed with the scheduled performance as normal."
It continued, "We sincerely apologize for causing disappointment and inconvenience to the fans who waited for and supported the performance," and said, "Above all, we sought the best possible way until the end to keep our promise to the audience, but we ask for your generous understanding that this was an unavoidable decision."
Olympic Park Live Arena in Songpa-gu, Seoul, was used as the Songpa-gu ballot-counting center for the 9th nationwide local elections held on the 3rd. In response, citizens condemning the ballot paper shortage began gathering on the 5th, and the blockade has continued for 18 days.
Earlier, the 2026 Seoul Park Music Festival, which had planned to hold events at the venue, also changed its stage, and Nexon changed its event location to KINTEX in Ilsan.
